  • Became Chair of the Board from 1 January 2025, with a remit announced as covering M&A strategy, product development and advising the board.

Professional Journey

Hernandez founded 360Learning in 2013 around a thesis he has since set out at book length: that corporate training works best when subject-matter experts inside a company create and share knowledge themselves, rather than relying solely on a central learning team or off-the-shelf courses. The company built its learning platform on that idea of collaborative learning and grew into a business with offices and customers across North America and EMEA, counting Cisco, Biogen, Kinaxis and Toyota among its clients.

As CEO he also used acquisitions to extend the platform. In January 2022 360Learning acquired Looop, adding automation to its collaborative learning model, and in October 2023 it acquired eLamp, an AI-powered skills platform, to support skills-based learning. During the same period he brought independent directors onto the board, including Karen Roter Davis and Caroline Gaffney. In 2023 Kogan Page published his book Collaborative Learning.

In September 2024 the company announced a leadership transition. Benjamin Marchal, who had joined in 2019 and led expansion into North America, Germany and the UK, became CEO from 1 January 2025. Hernandez moved to Chair of the Board, with the company stating he would remain involved in its long-term vision, M&A strategy and product development. By then 360Learning had raised $240 million and built a team of more than 400 people.
