  • Chief Financial Officer of Berkshire Grey since September 2020; the company still lists him in that role on its executive team page.
  • Served as CFO of the public company from the July 2021 SPAC merger with Revolution Acceleration Acquisition Corp until SoftBank completed its acquisition on 20 July 2023.
  • Chief Financial Officer and a board member of NEC Energy Solutions from 2015 to 2020.

Professional Journey

Fidler studied accounting at Syracuse University and began his career in the audit practice of Coopers & Lybrand, later taking an MBA at Northeastern University. He held senior finance roles at Boston Consulting Group and Hampshire Chemical Corporation, and became corporate controller and Vice President of Finance at Evergreen Solar.

His first chief financial officer role came at Ambient Corporation, a provider of smart grid systems for utilities, from 2011 to 2013; Berkshire Grey’s filings credit him with leading Ambient’s listing on Nasdaq. He was then CFO of ReEnergy Holdings from 2013 to 2015, and CFO and a board member of NEC Energy Solutions from 2015 to 2020.

He joined Berkshire Grey as Chief Financial Officer in September 2020. Within a year the company went public through its merger with Revolution Acceleration Acquisition Corp, which closed on 21 July 2021. The public period was short. In March 2023 Berkshire Grey agreed to be acquired by SoftBank Group, an investor since 2019, for $1.40 a share in cash, about $375 million in all. SoftBank completed the acquisition on 20 July 2023 and the company deregistered its shares.

Fidler has remained CFO of the private company. Its leadership has changed around him: Dave Paratore became chief executive in early 2025, and founder Tom Wagner moved to chairman. Berkshire Grey describes itself as employing more than 350 people and holding more than 700 patents.
