Professional Journey

Wolk earned a bachelor’s degree in finance at St. Joseph’s University and a law degree at Temple University School of Law, and is a certified public accountant. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1998 as finance manager for business development at Ortho-McNeil, a J&J subsidiary.

Over the next two decades he held senior finance roles across the company’s segments and functions: chief financial officer of the North America pharmaceuticals group, vice president of finance for the medical devices global supply chain, and vice president of finance and chief financial officer of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies. He then led investor relations, a function J&J says was regularly ranked by Institutional Investor among the best in the industry.

In 2018 he became executive vice president and chief financial officer and joined the executive committee. He is responsible for driving profitable growth, generating cash flow, allocating capital and managing risk across the enterprise, and he leads the Finance and Global Services organizations. J&J operates two businesses, Innovative Medicine and MedTech, and its Innovative Medicine business alone exceeds $60 billion in annual revenue, according to the company.

Inside the company he is executive sponsor of J&J’s Impact Venture Fund and its Veterans Leadership Council and champions the Finance Leadership Development Program. Outside it he is a director of Prudential Financial, sits on the Stanford Medicine Board of Fellows and on the board of trustees of St. Joseph’s University, whose Haub School of Business inducted him into its hall of fame, and is a member of the CNBC Global CFO Council and the Wall Street Journal CFO Network.
