Executive Summary
Jim Lee has been Chief Financial Officer of Target since September 2024. Beyond the usual finance remit of planning, audit, investor relations, treasury, tax and risk, he is responsible for enterprise strategy, partnerships and corporate development, and for Target’s financial services. He came to Target after more than 25 years at PepsiCo, where he rose through finance, strategy and business roles to deputy chief financial officer, and where he sat on the boards of joint ventures and investments including Tropicana Brands Group and Celsius Holdings. The pairing of strategy and the CFO role at Target reflects that PepsiCo career, much of which was spent in strategy and transformation rather than pure finance.

He is one of eight executive officers on Target’s leadership team marked as subject to Section 16, and he took the CFO role as Fiddelke, who had been CFO from 2019, moved on to chief operating officer and then chief executive.
Target’s annual report describes a single-segment business selling through stores and digital channels, with stores fulfilling more than 97 percent of merchandise sales in each of the last three years. Its other notable revenue sources are advertising and credit card profit-sharing income, the latter tied to the financial services and partnerships that sit in his remit.
