Executive Summary

George Barkley is Chief Executive Officer of BlueAlly, an IT services and solutions provider founded in Cary, North Carolina in 1999 that sells security, cloud, data center, networking and managed services to business, government and education customers. He took the role in May 2021 and has run the company as a consolidator: BlueAlly has since bought n2grate, B2B Technologies, Corporate Armor and, in August 2026, GigaNetworks, and the company credits him with taking it from a regional to a national provider. He came to it as an operator who had already built and sold a business in the same market, having founded Atlanta-based Sovereign Systems, which AHEAD acquired in 2019.

Career Highlights

  • Chief Executive Officer of BlueAlly since May 2021, responsible for the company’s strategy and direction, working alongside founder and Executive Chairman Vijay Tanamala.
  • Announced the acquisition of n2grate in February 2023, describing it as “strategic diversification” that expanded BlueAlly’s access to federal customers.
  • Announced the acquisition of Corporate Armor in May 2023, adding e-commerce and client service capability to BlueAlly’s reseller model.
  • Founded and managed Sovereign Systems, an Atlanta-based solution provider acquired by AHEAD in 2019.
  • Listed as a director of SovLabs, LLC, a Norcross, Georgia company, in its 2018 SEC Form D filing.
  • Earlier held positions at IBM and EMC.

Professional Journey

Barkley’s career spans roughly 25 years in the IT industry, according to BlueAlly. He began at the large infrastructure vendors, holding positions at IBM and EMC, before moving to the channel side of the business, where value-added resellers and solution providers design, sell and support that same infrastructure for customers.

There he founded and managed Sovereign Systems, an Atlanta-based solution provider. The business was acquired by AHEAD in 2019. In the same period he sat on the board of SovLabs, LLC, a Norcross, Georgia company whose 2018 Form D lists him as a director together with David Coulter, who later became BlueAlly’s Chief Technology Officer. BlueAlly’s Chief Revenue Officer, Ian Daum, also held leadership roles at AHEAD and Sovereign Systems.

He became Chief Executive Officer of BlueAlly in May 2021. The company had been founded in 1999 and headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, and its founder, Vijay Tanamala, now serves as Executive Chairman. Under Barkley, BlueAlly has grown largely by acquisition, describing its purpose as “reinventing the Value-Added Reseller model.” In February 2023 it bought n2grate, which Barkley said gave the business strategic diversification and access to federal customers. In May 2023 it added Corporate Armor, bringing e-commerce and client service experience. B2B Technologies, a cloud-focused provider, followed that year. In April 2026 BlueAlly appointed Sean Robertson as Senior Vice President of Federal, and in August 2026 it acquired GigaNetworks, a Miami security and networking provider founded in 2008.

BlueAlly now describes itself as a provider of managed services, professional services, embedded staffing and integration center capabilities across security, compliance, data center, cloud, application modernization, collaboration, DevOps, automation and networking. Its 2026 announcements are datelined Atlanta.
