Professional Journey
Steele started out in investment banking and growth equity investing, according to Recurly’s announcement of his appointment. The firms he worked for are not named.
He then moved to operating finance at Snap One, the smart-home technology company. There he led finance, corporate development and investor relations, and he played a key role in scaling it to more than $1 billion in revenue and in its public listing. By September 2022, when Snap One held an analyst and investor day that it filed with the SEC, he was SVP Finance, and he opened the event with the welcome and agenda review.
From Snap One he became Chief Financial Officer of Paytronix, a Newton, Massachusetts provider of loyalty, gift, online ordering and guest-engagement software for restaurants and convenience stores. Recurly credits him with leading Paytronix to profitable growth and a successful strategic sale.
