Professional Journey
Duncan built his career in the sales side of the upholstery fabric business. He spent many years as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Peachtree Fabrics and later served as National Sales Manager for Spradling International, a vinyl-coated fabrics manufacturer; Keyston describes him as bringing executive experience “as both a wholesale distributor and vinyl-coated manufacturer”.
In 2001 he acquired Keyston Bros. The company is far older than its current ownership: it began in 1868 as a small family business making and selling whips and lashes on the streets of San Francisco, and became one of the larger national jobbers serving upholstery trades. Under Duncan it was run from corporate headquarters in Roswell, Georgia. The company says he travelled widely to source vinyl, fabric and textiles himself, engineering products for the automotive, marine, awning and furniture markets it serves, and Keyston also built out KB Contract, a division supplying hospitality, healthcare and fitness customers. The company now reports more than 250 employees and 19 warehouse and branch locations.
Alongside the business he has held a number of trade roles. His company biography says he served three terms as president of the Southeastern Fabric Group, spent five years on the board of directors of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association, and served as President of the National Association of Decorative Fabric Distributors.
On 3 April 2026 Keyston announced a leadership transition marking 25 years under the Duncans. A new executive team was appointed, with Mike Hendrix as President, Brooke Kahn as Chief Marketing Officer and Tommy Duncan as Chief Operating Officer, while Dee Duncan moved from day-to-day operations to become Chairman of the Board and Ann Duncan became Board Secretary. “They have earned our complete confidence,” he said of the new team. “They’ve got this.”
