  • Founder and managing partner of Link Ventures since January 2006, and co-founder and managing partner of the fintech-focused Vestigo Ventures since January 2016.
  • Co-founded the Cambridge venture studio Link Studio in 2005, serving as its chairman since founding and as chief executive until 2017.

  • Holds an S.B. in computer science from MIT, where he researched neural networks at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Professional Journey

Blundin studied computer science at MIT and researched neural network technology at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. His thesis was titled “Neural Network Simulations on a Connection Machine.” Machine learning shaped his early career. Before 1997 he was president and chief executive of Cirrus Recognition Systems, which EverQuote’s proxy calls one of the first commercially successful machine-learning companies. From 1997 to 2000 he was founder, chief executive and chairman of DataSage, which used neural networks for data analytics, including online marketing. Vignette Corporation acquired DataSage in 2000, and Blundin stayed on as Vignette’s chief technologist until 2002.

He founded Vestmark in 2001 and was its chief executive until 2008. The company builds technology for wealth managers, asset managers, broker-dealers and registered investment advisors. Its core product is the VestmarkONE platform for managing, trading and tax-managing client portfolios. After 2008 he moved from management to the board, where he is chairman, and the company is now run by a separate executive team under chief executive Karl Roessner. On 9 September 2026 Vestmark announced that Envestnet had agreed to acquire it, with closing expected in the fourth quarter.

Much of his work since has been starting and funding new companies. In June 2005 he co-founded Link Studio, a venture studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has chaired it since its founding and was its chief executive until February 2017. He founded the venture capital firm Link Ventures and has been its managing partner since January 2006. In January 2016 he co-founded Vestigo Ventures, a fintech-focused fund, where he is also managing partner. According to EverQuote’s proxy, he has founded or co-founded at least ten software and internet companies since 2002 in addition to Vestmark, including the data analytics and online marketing company Autotegrity and the online research company CourseAdvisor.

EverQuote came out of that work. Blundin is one of its co-founders and has chaired its board since August 2008, through its listing on Nasdaq, and shareholders re-elected him a director in June 2026. He also sits on the XPRIZE Innovation Board. His XPRIZE biography says he hopes to contribute to “pushing the limits of the possible and applying technology carefully and thoughtfully to change the world for the better.”

Outside work, the same biography lists golf, tennis, sailing, skiing and hockey.
