Professional Journey

Walden earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at the University of Southern California. She joined Fox Television Group in 1993 and spent 25 years at 21st Century Fox, with roles including vice president of current programming and senior vice president of drama at 20th Century Fox Television, before becoming chairman and chief executive of Fox Television Group, which included Fox Broadcasting, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios. Disney says Fox Broadcasting moved from fourth place to first during her tenure.

She joined Disney in 2019 with its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, as chairman of Disney Television Studios and ABC Entertainment. She became chairman of entertainment for Walt Disney Television in 2021 and chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content in 2022.

In 2023 she became co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, overseeing its global entertainment media, news and content businesses and sharing oversight of its direct-to-consumer, technology and advertising groups. Disney credits her with leading Disney+ and Hulu to profitability by aligning its linear and streaming strategies, and with unifying its international streaming operations. Programming launched under her leadership has won more than 1,200 awards, including more than 400 Emmys, by the company’s count.

On 2 February 2026 the board named her president and chief creative officer, effective 18 March 2026, the day Josh D’Amaro became chief executive. She was a director of Live Nation Entertainment from 2018 to 2023. Outside Disney she serves on the boards of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Saban Community Clinic in Los Angeles and is a member of USC’s President’s Leadership Council.
