Professional Journey

Owen trained in accounting and finance at Southern Illinois University, took an MBA in International Finance at Georgia State University, and holds a CPA license. He began his career as a founder. In 1997 he started Insurity Solutions, which built one of the earliest web-based rating systems for insurance, and the company was later acquired by ChoicePoint.

He then spent more than a decade at Insurity and LexisNexis, leading product modernization and overseeing major platform portfolios. At ClarionDoor he guided the company through a period of rapid growth that ended in its acquisition by Zywave. Warranty Week describes his career as scaling technology companies under private equity ownership in insurance and financial services.

Owen joined PCMI as President in 2022. The company, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Chicago, sells PCRS, an administration platform for the full life cycle of F&I products, from contracts through claims. It reports more than 125 customers, 440,000 users and over 135 million contracts processed. As President he worked closely with third-party administrators, manufacturers and dealers, and PCMI credits him with strengthening PCRS through automation, partner integrations and customer experience. In that period PCMI added a lender compliance product, TruComply, built out its executive team, received a strategic growth investment from Thoma Bravo in March 2025 and acquired StoneEagle’s Enterprise Solutions business unit in November 2025, as reported by Warranty Week.

He became Chief Executive Officer on 1 January 2026. Nagelvoort, the founding CEO, moved to Executive Chairman to concentrate on long-term strategy, leaving day-to-day operations to Owen. Announcing the change, Owen said the company’s focus was execution and platform investment to help customers run more efficient and resilient businesses. Warranty Week’s April 2026 profile of him highlighted Claims Intelligence, PCMI’s AI capability for automated invoice processing and validation in claims.
