He came to Apkudo after a senior career at Accenture, where as a Managing Director he led the global Sourcing and Procurement business, a team of more than 17,000 people. Before Accenture he founded Neuwing Energy, an energy consulting firm, and took it from concept to exit.

- Signed Apkudo’s March 2023 SEC Form D as President for a Series C round of about $37.5 million, led by Closed Loop Partners’ Leadership Fund and Piper Sandler Merchant Banking.
- Managing Director at Accenture and a member of its Global Leadership Council, leading global Sourcing and Procurement and serving as global Sustainability leader for Accenture Operations.
- Founder and CEO of Neuwing Energy, which he led from concept to exit.
Professional Journey
Gottesman’s career has two halves: founding a company and running large operations inside a big one. He first founded Neuwing Energy, an energy consulting firm, served as its CEO and led it from concept to exit. He then moved to Accenture, where he became a Managing Director and a member of the firm’s Global Leadership Council. There he led the global Sourcing and Procurement business, an operation of more than 17,000 people, and was also global leader for Sustainability within Accenture Operations. Apkudo credits him with more than 30 years of P&L management experience across these roles.
The sustainability and supply chain work carried over directly into his move to Apkudo. The company was founded in 2011 and is based in the Canton neighbourhood of Baltimore. It describes its work as creating a network of trusted data from every step of the mobile device lifecycle, so that the businesses handling a device share one source of truth about it, and its automation is used for device testing, grading and refurbishment. Apkudo calls this its Device Passport Platform.
He does not appear among the officers named in Apkudo’s January 2022 Form D, but by February 2023 he was speaking for the company as President. That month he told Technical.ly that the new $37.5 million Series C would pay for more engineers, a larger go-to-market function, expansion from mobile phones into computers, and a physical presence outside the United States. He also said Apkudo then had 180 employees, with research and development staff in Sydney and Flensburg. The March 2023 Form D for that round lists him as President and Secretary and carries his signature.
Apkudo now describes his job as building the operational backbone of the platform, meaning the systems, processes, people and international partnerships, so that partners anywhere have one trusted standard for the device lifecycle. The partnerships have since widened. In October 2024 TELUS’s repair and refurbishment business, Mobile Klinik, announced that it would use Apkudo’s platform to automate device testing and grading.
Outside work he enjoys scuba diving, skiing, golf and hiking.
