Executive Summary
Anthony Goulbourne is President of RouteOne Canada, the Canadian business of RouteOne, the platform that connects car dealerships with the lenders that finance vehicle purchases. RouteOne is an unusual company: it is owned by four competitors, Ally Financial, Ford Motor Credit, TD Auto Finance and Toyota Financial Services, and exists to give dealers one shared channel for credit applications and contracting rather than a separate portal for each lender. Goulbourne has been with the company since 2004, sits on its executive committee under chief executive Justin Oesterle, and is responsible for all sales and product matters in Canada. He is the head of the Canadian business, not of RouteOne as a whole.
Career Highlights
- President, RouteOne Canada, overseeing all sales and product matters for the company in Canada, and a member of RouteOne’s executive committee.
- Promoted to Senior Vice President of RouteOne Canada in February 2017, taking on day-to-day operational responsibility when Barry McMillan, who had led the Canadian business since 2003, stepped down.
- With RouteOne since 2004.
- Joined First American Title in 2002 as a Project Analyst, providing IT consulting for credit decisioning and vehicle servicing.
- Earlier career in banking at BMO, in branch lending and investment advice and then systems analysis.
Professional Journey
Goulbourne began in banking, working on the branch side as a licensed lender and investment advisor in community branch management. He then moved into BMO’s systems analysis team, shifting from making credit decisions to building the systems that support them. That credit-systems focus shaped the rest of his career.
In 2002 he joined First American Title as a Project Analyst, providing IT consulting for credit decisioning and vehicle servicing. Two years later, in 2004, he joined RouteOne, which had been founded in 2002 to give dealerships a single electronic link to multiple finance sources.
He stayed with RouteOne through the growth of its Canadian business. In February 2017, when Barry McMillan stepped down after leading RouteOne Canada since 2003, Goulbourne was promoted to Senior Vice President and took over day-to-day operations. Under McMillan the Canadian business had grown to include nearly all national and regional finance sources, many dealer service provider partners and thousands of dealer clients across the country.
He now holds the title President, RouteOne Canada, and is the Canadian member of the executive committee. In September 2026 he spoke for the company on its integration with Inovatec by Solifi, which lets consumers go from credit application to signed contract in one connected online flow.
